Our History
WindowWalk Computer Education was opened as an on-site computer
training service in November 2001. The company founder, Deborah
Loughnan, discovered, on her return to Halifax from several years
overseas, that many people were struggling to understand more about
their computers. She realized that she had a way to help people
deal with their technological challenges and stay at home in Halifax
(despite the cold climate).
Thus, WindowWalk was born with a business card, a brochure, and
lots of excited energy. WindowWalk needed to be different from the
"brick and mortar" schools and from the unstructured hourly
tutors that were our competition. Deborah spent many hours in her
little basement office designing a curricula for her students to
use. The formula worked, and WindowWalk's structured, yet flexible,
courses have given our ever-increasing number of students the ability
to "tame their monsters". |
